Dr. Phil Plait aka Mister Bad Astronomy

The day has finally come. Tonight Dr. Phil Plait will be co-hosting my Geeky Pleasures show. I am a tad nervous about this. Mind you not as nervous as I was when I got to interview Wil Wheaton on my show, but nonetheless I am still nervous. No sooner do I think I have all my questions that I want to ask sketched out in my head, he posts yet another wonderful blog that causes me to rethink interview topics. Regardless of what direction the show takes tonight, it will be a very good one.

About
- Confirmed to be a “Geek God” by some online quiz and dubbed “The Queen of Geek” by many of her fans, Julia “Jules” Sherred is a mother, writer, author, radio personality, blogger, gamer, tech enthusiast, science nerd, sci-fi and fantasy freak, hard core Trekker, has an unnatural obsession with Optimus Prime and so much more. She emerged from the womb fully embracing her geeky tendencies, with a book on Astrophysics in one hand and a deck of cards in the other. Growing up, games were always an important part of her family, including family board game nights, Christmas family poker games and trying to pry the ColecoVision® and later NES controllers from her mother’s hands. She has now passed on this tradition to her own children and is raising the next generation of geeks and gamers.
  
  In early 2008, she was hired by Party 934 as their Program Director. When the station finally hit the airwaves in September 2008, that is when she began to host her Geeky Pleasures radio show. Once a week for 2 hours, she played a wide variety of music including many geeky songs and discussed with her listeners some geek topic of the week. She has had some pretty well-known geeks sit across from her during her shows, including interviews with: The King of Geek Wil Wheaton, MTV Executive Producer Shane Nickerson, Bad Astronomer Phil Plait PhD and geek music sensation Jonathan Coulton. In 2009, she also took on the additional duties of Assistant General Manager of the station and launched her Geeky Pleasures website when her show and blog could no longer adequately fill the demand she was receiving to share her “unique brand of geekiness”. Due to a change in circumstances, she stepped away from her radio show, her AGM and PD duties at the station.
  
  After helping to create and build another radio station in 2010, she decided it was time for her to move on and do her own thing, enabling her to make a specific vision a reality. With a passion for music, entertaining the world and helping others to realise their same dreams, she is extremely happy to be launching The Look 24/7, where the Geeky Pleasures Radio show, plus more, will continue to live.
  
  With a soft-launch in May 2011 and full launch on June 1, 2011, and with an emphasis on independent musicians, The Look promises to bring a wide variety of programs to fit anyone's needs. From Talk and Comedy, Hip Hop and R&B, Alternative and Rock, Dance and Electronic to everything in between.
